This automates communication, never professional judgment. In healthcare, dental and regulated settings the system handles scheduling, access and logistics only. It does not diagnose, triage or advise, and we will not build it to. Model usage bills to your own account at cost.
- A collected list of the questions you actually receive
- A written boundary document, approved before build
- Answers grounded in your own content
- An explicit 'I don't know' rather than an invented answer
- Escalation to a person with the conversation attached
- Consistent behaviour across every channel connected
Questions about repeat questions.
A scripted chatbot follows a decision tree somebody drew: it recognises set phrases and returns set replies, and falls apart outside the tree. An AI agent interprets what was actually said, works from a body of information rather than a script, and can take an action: look up availability, create a record, escalate. The practical difference is what happens to an unexpected question: a chatbot dead-ends, an agent either answers it or hands it over.
That is the failure mode to design against, and the defence is grounding plus boundaries: it answers from your material, and when the material does not cover something it is built to say so and hand over rather than produce a plausible sentence. We test specifically for this before launch.
No. In a clinical setting we scope these systems to scheduling, access and logistics, and the boundary is enforced in the build. Anything clinical escalates to the practice.
They are retained in your own accounts, and you can read, export or delete them. We do not hold your customer conversations in a tool only we can see.
